The Internal Revenue Service issued new rates for deductible transportation expenses for 2009. The new rate is 55 cents per mile for business miles driven and 24 cents per mile for medical or moving purposes.

The Department of Labor issued final revisions to the Family and Medical Leave Act. Among other issues, the revisions include rules defining how families of wounded service members will be able to take unpaid leave to care for them.
