COBRA Subsidy Extended until May 31, 2010

16. April 2010 14:38

On April 15, Congress passed HR 4851, the Continuing Extension Act of 2010, which extended the COBRA Subsidy period from March 31, 2010 to May 31, 2010. The new measure comes after a two-week gap in benefits for thousands of Americans who either exhausted their benefits or their eligibility was expiring. This extends eligibility for the COBRA health insurance 65% subsidy for people who have lost their jobs through May 31, 2010 and provides transition relief for individuals who lost their jobs between March 31, 2010 and the date of enactment.
