Department of Health and Human Services releases HIPAA Privacy Guides

The Department of HHS has released two new HIPAA privacy guides to clarify frequently misunderstood issues. The guides explain explain when a provider can share a patients health information with the patients friends, family or those caring for that patient and target areas of HIPAA privacy rules that are frequently misunderstood by health care providers and patients.
